Bhubaneswar: The branch manager of Canara Bank’s Baramba branch Tapan Sahu reportedly went missing on Monday while he was returning from Odisha’s Berhampur.
According to reports, Tapan had gone to the bank’s Kalapathar branch in Cuttack district on official work and was returning to Baramba when his mobile phone was switched off near Patani chhak. When Tapan did not return home till late in the night and his relatives were unable to locate his whereabouts, they lodged a complaint with the police, who have started an investigation into the matter.
Ajit Kumar Tarai, a staff of Canara Bank’s Baramba branch also filed a written complaint to police.
Tapan’s wife Elisa Pradhan said that he left home around 6.00 pm on Monday and called his bank colleagues at 9:45 pm. However, when she called him, his phone was switched off.
Following this, they went to Berhampur police station and lodged a complaint before before returning to Baramba.
