Keonjhar/ Bhubaneswar: Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Odisha in the last 24 hours. While two bikers died on the spot when they collided head-on with a truck near Chandibiranchipur Street under Nandipada police limits in Keonjhar district on Monday, another person died after a collision with an unidentified vehicle near the Kontigadia intersection on the National Highway between Chandikol and Paradeep in Jajpur district Sunday night.

While the identity of the bikers is yet to be ascertained, reports said the first accident occurred on state highway No. 53. The victims were taken to Anandpur Medical Center where the doctors declared them dead. Meanwhile, the truck driver surrendered before the police.

In the second accident, the deceased has been identified as Jitendra Rai, a truck driver resident of Bihar. Rai had parked his vehicle on the roadside last night and while he was crossing the road on foot, he was run over by a speeding vehicle. He too died on the spot.
