Bhubaneswar: The Regional Office of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) at Bhubaneswar organized a workshop on Wednesday to disseminate the provisions made in the New Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act at the Hotel Mayfair, here.
The Chief Secretary Government of Odisha Pradeep Kumar Jena was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Deputy Director General of Forests (DDGF) A T Mishra gave the welcome address and highlighted the new provisions made in the Act.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to work as a team. He opined for making a balance between conservation and development.
The DDGF gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the FC Act. Delegates from Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal attended the event.
Besides, Chief Secretary, ACS Forest S Sahu, ACS (Mine) D K Singh, PCCF D Biswal, PCCF (Wildlife) Popli, Nodal Officer S Nanda, MD OMC Balwant Singh, DDGF Ranchi Santosh Tiwari, Collectors and DFOs from different districts were present.
