Bhubaneswar: The DNA profile matching report has confirmed that there was no baby swapping in Capital Hospital as alleged by a couple.
Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh has informed that the DNA profiles of the newborn girl and her mother have matched, thus the girl child belongs to the couple.
One Pranakrushna Biswal had admitted his wife to the Capital Hospital for delivery.
Biswal alleged that around 10: 30 PM on September 25 the nurse had told his mother-in-law while handing over the newborn that it was a boy but on removing the cloth wrap to take a picture of the newborn he found it to be a girl.
Biswal had also filed a complaint at the Capital Police Station in this connection.
As per court order, blood samples of the mother and newborn were collected by Capital Hospital authorities on October 2 for DNA matching.
The samples were sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for DNA profiling.
Earlier the parents of the baby girl had filed an affidavit expressing their willingness to give blood samples for DNA matching.
According to reports, following the matching of DNA profiling report, Biswal has accepted that the newborn girl as his child.
