Bhubaneswar: Through the State government’s ambitious scheme ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’, a campaign has been launched to strengthen the infrastructure for building a new Odisha, an empowered Odisha. This programme’s focus will be on each panchayat, each village.
Today on the second day of the programme, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the scheme in Puri and Nayagarh districts through video conferencing from Bhubaneswar. Each panchayat will get Rs 50 lakh. An allocation of Rs 134 crore has been allocated to six constituencies of Puri district for the implementation of 4130 projects. Similarly, Rs 97 crore has been allocated to four constituencies of Nayagarh district for implementation of 2924 projects.
Under this programme, the cultural base of Odisha will be strengthened through the promotion of Jagannath culture in every panchayat, development of every place of worship in addition to the development of digital infrastructure. This will be the base for building an aspirational Odisha. From our strong cultural foundation to reach the vast horizon of modern science, new Odisha will spread its wings further and reach new heights and we shall build new Odisha, nabin Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the scheme will harmonize modernity with culture.
Patnaik said that this harmony will bring prosperity in villages. This is our vision for the Odisha of the 21st century, he added.
“Odisha is the land of Jagannath. Universal love, peace, harmony, equality and service is the message of Jagannath culture. It is based on inclusiveness and embraces everyone irrespective of caste and community. Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha scheme will preserve Jagannath culture in every village. Every place of worship will be developed. Heritage sites will be preserved. Preservation and protection of these cultural and heritage sites is essential for our future generations,” the Chief Minister stated.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the development of digital infrastructure in villages is one of the objectives of this scheme.
He said that villages will get internet connectivity, science parks, skill development centres, works hub and banking facilities.
“Primary schools will be also included in this scheme. It will bring immense opportunities to our youths, women, farmers and students and will further brighten the identity of Odisha as a modern, strong, progressive and culturally aware state,” he added.
The Chief Minister sought everyone’s cooperation for the successful implementation of Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha scheme while expressing that it will strengthen our infrastructure for an aspirational Odisha.
While Rs 134 crore has been sanctioned for 4130 projects in 268 gram panchayats of 6 constituencies of Puri, Rs 97 crore has been sanctioned for 2924 projects in 194 gram panchayats of 4 constituencies of Nayagarh district.

In this programme, ministers Ranendra Pratap Swain, Ashok Chandra Panda, Tusharkanti Behera, MLA Samir Ranjan Das, MLA Rudrapratap Maharathy, MLA Umakant Samantarai, Zilla Parishad president, members, and local sarpanch participated in the discussion through the virtual platform. They opined it to be new era of development in villages.
The Collectors of both the districts gave the vote of thanks in the programme.
