Bhubaneswar: Satya Nagar Durga Puja Committee has constructed a unique puja mandap to celebrate its 45th anniversary this year. For the first time, any puja pandal has been constructed with nearly 10 lakh glass bangles. A pleasant treat to the eyes!
According to the committee members, since they wanted to make a unique pandal this year, preparations began in early 2023. As many as 25 artisans from neighbouring West Bengal have been working on the pandal for nearly seven months.
Made of bamboo and cloth, the pandal replicating a palace is 65 feet high and 80 feet wide. All images and decorations on the interior and exterior of the pandal are made of glass bangles of different hues. Goddess Durga and her children Ganesh, Kartik, Laxmi and Saraswati are adorned with gold and silver ornaments. No doubt, thousands of revellers from Bhubaneswar and several regions of Odisha flocked to the Satya Nagar Durga Puja pandal this year during the festive days to have a glimpse of the marvel.
This year, the budget of the Satya Nagar Durga Puja Committee was Rs 25 lakh and with it, the members have set up an eye-catching illumination. They are also providing free prasad to 4,000 devotees daily.
In addition, cultural programmes have been organised every evening for the merriment of the visitors.
