Bhubaneswar: The very severe cyclonic storm “Hamoon” (pronounced as Hamoon) weakened into a severe cyclonic storm over Northeast Bay of Bengal.
It lay centered about 350 km east-southeast of Digha (West Bengal), 130 km south-southeast of Khepupara (Bangladesh) and 190 km south-southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh).
It is likely to weaken gradually into a Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hours and continue to move northeastwards.
It is likely to cross Bangladesh coast close to south of Chittagong by the early hours of October 25 as a cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph.
