Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha on Wednesday informed that the final voter list for the 2024 general elections will be published on January 5, 2024. CEO Niunja Kumar Dhal, who held an all-party meeting in his office yesterday, said preparations for the 2024 general elections are already underway and they are hastening the publication of an error-free voter list in the first week of January 2024.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, Dhal said, “The draft voter list will be published on October 27 this year, while the final voters’ list will be out on January 5, 2024”
The draft voter list will be available in the offices of all the sub-collectors and errors if any would be fixed by a specific date. Dhal said that they will receive complaints regarding errors from the public between October 27 and December 9 and the hearing of complaints will be held by December 26.
The Election Commission would also launch a special drive on November 5, 11, 19, and 25 to include the voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years in the voters’ list.
