Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Pradip Kumar Jena today instructed the secretaries and senior officials of various departments to continue with the progress of the financial performance.
Chairing a meeting of secretaries at Lok Seva Bhawan, Jena stressed the various issues to be discussed in the National Conference of Chief Secretaries to be held in November.
Development commissioner and additional chief secretary Anu Garg gave a presentation on the success of various departments in October.
The meeting highlighted the financial performance of various departments by the end of October. All the departments have performed well in the month of October than the previous year, Garg said.
In view of the commencement of kharif paddy collection, it was emphasized in the meeting that all the secretaries, while visiting the district on official work, should inspect the preparation of Mandis.
The Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment emphasized the preparation of the International Millet Conference to be held on November 9 and 10.
The meeting also discussed various schemes and government programmes launched in October. These are signing of MoU for five super specialty hospitals LAccMI bus services, Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha program, Chheligada Project, and new irrigation projects for various districts. Approval, etc. were discussed on various issues.
The meeting also featured the performance of the Fisheries Department which reported 145 percent higher than last year. The state’s GST collection rate has increased. There has been an increase in revenue in the management of minor mineral products.
As many as 15,000 scooters have been given in the Mission Shakti Scooter Scheme. The Drink from Tap scheme which was launched three years ago in Puri, completed three years.
During this period 24 urban bodies have been supplied with piped water under the scheme, the chief secretary said.
Various departments presented the achievements. The Chief Secretary advised the officials to further expedite the process of success.
