Bhubaneswar: The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Tuesday successfully tested the Pralay ballistic missile from LC4 of Abdul Kalam Island.
Pralay missiles have the ability to target and destroy any enemy base from 150 to 500 kilometers away. This ballistic missile is capable of carrying weapons weighing around 350 to 700 kg, which makes it more lethal. Precise navigation capability and high speed make the Pralay missile more effective. If it is fired from near the LOC, China’s bunkers, cannons, etc. can be destroyed and destroyed.
The ground-to-ground missile Pralay is built on the Prithvi missile system. The Pralay missile is a surface-to-surface ballistic missile, which is also capable of defeating interceptor missiles. For this, it has been made like an advanced missile.
This missile has the ability to change its path after covering a certain distance in the air. Manufacturing of this missile system was started in 2015 and it was tested successfully on December 21 and 22 last year.
This ballistic missile is capable of carrying a high explosive penetration cum blast (PCB) and runaway denial penetration submunition (RDPS). Pralay is a short-range ballistic missile and has been developed for surface-to-surface attack.
Pralay is also designed to counter Pakistan’s short-range nuclear missiles.
A team of senior officers and scientists associated with the DRDO were present on the occasion of its testing.
