Bhubaneswar: The All Odisha Private Bus Owners Association has decided to go on a State-wide indefinite strike from December 1 protesting against the Government’s LAccMI scheme.
The owners have decided to stage dharna outside the State Assembly on November 22. If the government doesn’t fulfill the demands, the owners will go on strike, Association Secretary Debendra Sahu informed.
“Protest will be held in front of the Assembly from November 22 to 30. If the state government does not pay heed to our demands, we will go on strike from December 1. We have discussed many times with the state government to resolve the dispute but in vain. There is still time to stop the proposed strike. The bus strike can be avoided if the government wants so,” Sahu said.
The decision was taken in the executive body meeting of the association held in Bhawanipatna.
Bus owners of 30 districts attended the meeting and discussed the LAccMI bus run by the state government. The owners have been protesting the government bus services from the Block headquarters to the district headquarters.
