Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday apprehended Gram Rojgar Sahayak (GRS) Dillip Kumar Dikhit, at Goleipur in Mulapal Gram Panchayat under Korei Block in Jajpur district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from a complainant.
According to an official press release, accused Dikhit demanded the bribe from the complainant for recommending bonus amount for completion of the house under IAY scheme under stipulated time as well as to post photographs of the house, which stands in the name of IAY beneficiary who happens to be the brother of the complainant.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Dikhit and seized.
Following the trap, search of the house of the accused in Jajpur district is underway.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the accused at Cuttack Vigilance Police Station on Thursday under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act, 2018.
Further investigation is in progress against the accused GRS, the release stated.
