Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has withheld the Cabinet decision to amend the Odisha Regulation-2, which is enforced in the Scheduled areas of the state to enable the tribals to transfer their lands to non-tribals with permission from the Collector or Sub-Collector.

“The proposed Amendment to Regulation-2 of 1956 discussed in the Cabinet meeting held on 14th November 2023, regarding the transfer of Tribal lands, has been withheld,” Odisha Revenue Minister Sudam Marndi wrote on his X handle on Thursday.
