Kalahandi: The police on Friday arrested three people from a village under Kegaon police limits in Odisha’s Kalahandi district and produced them in court for purchasing goods with counterfeit currency notes.
The accused have been identified as Kanha Mahapatra of Borda village, Mantu Chandan of Rajnapur village, and Satis Bhoi of Kusumil village in the district.
Acting on a tip-off, Borda Police outpost officer Chandrahasya Sahu raided Borda Bazar and arrested the three accused when they were buying things with fake notes.
According to reports, the accused printed the fake currency notes at their home. The police also seized a printer used to print the notes worth Rs 7,300 from the possession of the arrested accused. Kegaon police station IIC Mukund Naik said that a case has been registered in this connection and the accused were produced in the local court today.
