Radiologist Arrested For Defrauding Rs 31 Lakh From Pvt Hospital In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Bharatpur police have arrested one Narayan Behera, a former Radiologist of a private hospital for allegedly defrauding it of Rs 31 lakh.

“Narayan Behera, a native of Sisua under 42 Mouza police limits in Cuttack, who was working as a radiologist in a private hospital here. The hospital authorities had reported at Bharatpur police station that he had collected money from different patients amounting to Rs 31 lakh and had not deposited the same. He had absconded since April this year. He was arrested from his village today,” informed IIC, Bharatpur, Dinakrushna Mishra.

Mishra said that accused Behera during interrogation has confessed to have defrauded Rs 8-10 lakh.

Out of that we have recovered Rs 34,000 from him, Mishra added.

The accused was forwarded to court today.

Police said that further investigation in the matter is underway.
