Bhubaneswar: Acting on allegations of amassing huge disproportionate assets (DA), the Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday launched simultaneous house searches at the locations linked to Gonga Paikray, Deputy Superintendent of Excise-cum-I/C Superintendent of Excise, Nabarangpur in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district. The searches are being conducted at six places in Koraput and Nabarangpur led by 3 DSPs, 5 Inspectors, 6 ASIs, and other staff of Odisha Vigilance on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.
The searches are being conducted at the following places:
- A triple-storeyed residential building of Gonga Paikray, located near the Fire Station in Jeypore.
- A triple-storeyed residential building of Gonga Paikray located at New Street 1st Lane in Jeypore.
- A land with a foundation of the building of Gonga Paikray located near Prakash Vidyalaya in front of Glocal Hospital, Jeypore.
- An asbestos parking shed of Gonga Paikray, located at Hanaguda, Jeypore.
- The office chamber of Gonga Paikray, located at Nabarangpur.
- The residential rented house of Gonga Paikray, located at Sadasiba Marg, Chanuria Guda, Nabarangpur.
During the searches, the Vigilance sleuths unearthed two multi-storeyed buildings, five plots in Jeypore town, cash worth Rs 1.09 lakh, two four-wheelers, along other assets linked to Gonga Paikray.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/plots is being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
