Balasore: Police have arrested five notorious criminals for their involvement in several property offences like dacoity with murder, robbery, theft and burglary in Balasore district.
Multiple cases of property offences came to the knowledge of police in the district on November 28 and 29.
The cases include a burglary of LED TV from a shop at Jhampura Haat under Chandipur Police station, a motorcycle theft in Sahadevkhunta Police area, robbery in Maharshi chhak in Chandipur, death due to an accident at Harshapura in Sadar police limits.
Under the direction of SP Sagarika Nath, multiple teams were formed under the leadership of Sadar SDPO. The teams comprising officials from Sadar PS, Town PS and Chandipur PS launched an investigation and apprehended five persons involved in all property offence cases.
Police seized five motorcycles, a LED TV, five mobile phones and Rs 500 cash from their possession.
The group was involved in nine such cases. They will be taken to the crime spot for scene recreation, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
