Sundargarh: Additional District & Sessions Judge Court, Sundargarh on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his father-in-law in 2020.
Additional District Sessions Judge Rajesh Dash sentenced Lalit Oram (42) to undergo life imprisonment after convicting him for the murder of his father-in-law Biseswar Nag (72) in 2020.
The court has also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Oram and on default of payment of fine, he has to undergo imprisonment for another three months.
According to proceedings of the case, at around 11.00 PM on April 10, 2020, Lalit Oram of Lefripada area of Sundargarh district thrashed his father-in-law Biseswar Nag to death over some issue.
On coming to know about the murder, village Ward Member Basant Kujur reported the matter at Lefripada police station.
Following the report, police registered a murder case and arrested Lalit Oram. He was then forwarded to court by the police.
