Bhubaneswar: The Cuttack Special POCSO Fast Track Ad-hoc Court today sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl
The court ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 failing which he would undergo six months more imprisonment.
Based on the statements of nine witnesses and 11 documents, the court pronounced the judgment. The court also ordered the District Legal Services Authority to pay to Rs 4 lakh compensation the girl.
In August 2017, the convict named Gudu Sahu abducted a +2 girl of Chauliaganj area in Cuttack and took her to Kakatpur area in Puri district where he assaulted her sexually.
A complaint was filed at Chauliaganj police station, based on which police registered a case and arrested Gudu.
