Paradip: Luck smiled on a few fishermen who ventured into the sea from Odisha’s Paradip on Sunday night. They caught 17 large telia borei fish weighing 3 quintals.

There were many takers for the telia fish in Paradip and so the entire haul was auctioned fetching the fishermen a whopping Rs 25 lakh. Telia is a valuable fish containing plenty of oil in its intestines, which is often exported and used to make drugs.

Catching 17 telia borei fish in one go is a rare event and fishermen with such a big haul of telia fish become wealthy with just one catch.
