Forest Guard, Watchman Apprehended By Vigilance For Taking Bribe In Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today apprehended a woman forest guard and a watchman of Banaharpalli Beat under Bandhabahal Forest Section in Jharsuguda while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 to give permission and facilitate cutting of trees from a homestead land.

Forest guard Jharana Sahoo and watchman Sanjay Barik were nabbed while receiving the illegal gratification.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from the accused and seized, vigilance said.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sahoo from DA angle.

In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance registered a case under section 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is in progress against the accused forest guard and watchman Barik.
