Retired Superintendent Of Odisha Warehousing Corporation Gets One Year RI  In DA Case

Bhubaneswar: A former superintendent (Retired) of Odisha Warehousing Corporation at Malmunda in Bolangir district was convicted in a disproportionate asset case.

A special vigilance court in Bolangir awarded Ananda Chandra Behera to undergo one year of rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.2,00,000. He would undergo further rigorous imprisonment for two months in default of payment of the fine.

The Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of pension of Behera following his conviction.

Umesh Chandra Panda, Ex-Superintendent of Vigilance, Sambalpur division had investigated the case.

Bolangir unit of vigilance had registered a case under sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possession of disproportionate assets in 2007.
