Cuttack: Amicus curiae N K Mohanty on Monday informed the Orissa high court that the ASI has started the repair work of the cracked beam inside Nata Mandap in Puri Jagannath temple.
The court has set January 18 as the next date for hearing on the matter.
Based on the report filed by Amicus Curiae, the High Court has posted the matter to 18th, January, 2024 for next hearing. In his report, the Amicus Curiae mentioned that the repair is in progress. The ceiling wood and wooden statues have been preserved in the museum,” informed advocate Alok Mohapatra.
The core committee will convene a meeting between 19, December and 21, December 2023 to finalise the design of SS box beam to be fitted in Nata Mandap as support to cracked beam. It will also be decided in the meeting regarding the organisation which would supply the materials, Mohapatra added.
The Amicus Curiae will again file a progress report on January 18, 2024, he said.
Notably, the court on November 15 had directed the ASI to start the repair work of Nata Mandap.
The Amicus Curiae had also stated that an estimated 120 days with six working hours per day will require to complete the strengthening of the cracked beam.
