Sundargarh: A six-year-old girl, who was kidnapped from Odisha’s Deogarh town on Monday, was rescued from the Badgaon area in Sundargarh district on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, a local woman saw the minor girl sitting under an electric pole and crying. She informed the Badgaon police about it. Soon a team from Badgaon police station rushed to the spot and rescued the girl.
Police identified the girl as the six-year-old granddaughter of a garment trader in Deogarh who was allegedly kidnapped by two bike-borne miscreants when she was returning from tuition with her grandmother on Monday evening.
After the alleged abduction, the miscreants reportedly sped towards the Ranchi-Vijayawada highway. The girl’s family had lodged a complaint with the police regarding the abduction yesterday.
After rescuing the girl this morning, police informed her family members through their Deogarh counterpart and the family members reached Badgaon. The family has taken the girl home.
