Bhubaneswar: The Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance today conducted raids at a mining quarry for illegal excavation of Black Granite Stone (Minor Minerals) in a Proposed Reserve Forest (PRF) at Balarampur under Jenapur police limits in Jajpur district.
During raid, one two-wheeler bearing registration No.AP-29-AF-3657, one compressor machine and one drilling Jack were seized. Accused person Prana Krushna Mohanty of Jenapur was arrested and forwarded to the Court.
In 2nd Operation today, on getting reliable information regarding the transportation of Minor Minerals, one TATA truck bearing registration No.OR04-D-4197 laden with Black Granite Bolder with around 211 Cft. on Chandikhol-Balasore NH near Barabatti under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur was seized.
In 3rd Operation today, on getting reliable information regarding the illegal stacking of timber inside an illegal furniture unit at village Samantarapur under Jajpur Sadar police limits, 21.53 Cft. valuable timber was seized.
In total, seized value of one TATA truck, one two-wheeler, minor minerals and valuable timber comes to Rs 25,46,000.
In this connection, three forest cases under Section 56 of the Orissa Forest Act-1972 & 73D under OTT & OFPT Rule-1980 and a UD Case under Minor Mineral Concession Rule-2016 respectively in Dalijoda Range under Cuttack Forest Division have been registered
Investigation in all the cases is underway.
