Bhubaneswar: The Commisionerate Police in Cuttack today claimed to have cracked the murder case of minor boy at Purbakachha village under Jagatpur police limits in Cuttack district.
The accused named Jogendra Panda has been arrested and a sharp weapon, blood stained towel and a wooden plank used in the crime have been seized from him.
The accused has confessed to his crime during interrogation by police.
Police today created scene recreation before forwarding him to court.
Panda allegedly murdered the minor boy Jyoti Prakash in a failed sodomy bid on December 17. His body was found in a pond in Thoria Sahi of Cuttack.
Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra said, it was murder over the demand of unnatural sex. The minor boy had left the house after his father had thrashed him over some reason. He hid himself in a place near his house. Taking advantage of the situation, Panda tried to entice him to have unnatural sex with him. When the boy opposed the act and threatened to reveal the act Panda hit him with a wooden plank. The boy fell unconscious and Panda slit his throat with a sharp weapon.”
