Bhubaneswar: Direct flight from the steel city of Rourkela to Kolkata will take off at 3.50 pm today. Alliance Air will operate the flights three days a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The flight from Rourkela to Kolkata and Kolkata to Rourkela will take 1.30 hours. The flight will take off from Rourkela airport at 3.50 pm and reach Kolkata at 5.20 pm.
The Odisha government has facilitated the flight service through the Viability Gap Funding (VGF), which will be provided for 35 seats on each flight.
Initially, the airfare from Rourkela to Kolkata has been fixed at Rs 1,999 and it is expected to benefit the business community of the steel city.
