Bhubaneswar: With three more active cases detected in Odisha during the last 24 hours, the tally has gone up to 8. However, the condition of all the patients is said to be stable.
Talking to the media, Odisha Public Health Director Dr Niranjan Mishra said, “As many as 690 people were tested on Wednesday and three among them were found to be affected by JN.1 a new sub-variant of Omicorn.
“All the patients are in home isolation,” Dr Mishra said, adding, “As per the statistics made available by the Union Health Ministry, 92% patients are in home isolation and only those with comorbidities have been admitted to hospitals.
According to him, JN.1 is a mild variant but it spreads rapidly. The symptoms of JN.1 are similar to those of seasonal flu. “If anyone has flu-like symptoms, they should get tested,” Dr Mishra said.
Meanwhile, 692 active Covid cases were detected across the country during the last 24 hours and six patients succumbed to their condition.
