Puri: Ahead of the New Year, stringent security measures have been announced for Puri town and the Shree Jagannath Temple.
To ensure a smooth experience for devotees and tourists visiting the holy town, the security plan comprises of several key components.
Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh has informed that five distinct security divisions will be implemented, with vehicle access to the Grand Road being prohibited from Marichikote Chhak.
Special darshan arrangements for Divyang (specially-abled individuals) and senior citizens will be made, Singh added.
A designated green corridor will facilitate emergency vehicle movement, prioritizing ambulance services. Additionally, a feedback center near the Srimandir aims to gather feedback from devotees after darshan.
The Puri sea beach will be under heightened surveillance and three police outposts will be set up there.
Addressing a presser, the Puri SP emphasized, “Our primary goal is to ensure a seamless darshan experience for devotees. Security planning involves visible policing and anti-crime initiatives. We’ve meticulously organized outside and inside temple darshan into sectors by deploying ample security personnel, including DSP-ranked officers, across the town.”
He further stated, “Similar to last year, the beach area will be designated as a no-vehicle zone. Our focus remains on swiftly facilitating devotees and visitors to designated parking spaces for their convenience.”
The comprehensive security blueprint aims to prioritize devotee safety and a hassle-free experience during the New Year period.
