Jeypore (Koraput): A 24-year-old man was arrested for raping a minor girl in Baipariguda area in Koraput district.
The accused identified as B B Goleri of Dangajodi village under Baipariguda police limits allegedly abducted the class VIII girl while she was washing utensils near her house. Later, the accused took her to an undisclosed place and assaulted her sexually.
After returning home, the girl narrated the ordeal before her parents following which her father lodged a complaint at Jeypore Mahila police.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an inquiry into the allegations.
During the investigation, police arrested the accused and forwarded him to court.
Police also conducted a medical examination of the girl and the accused.
