Mayurbhanj: A married woman was brutally killed by her brother-in-law and nephew on suspicion of practicing witchcraft. The brutal incident occurred in Lahandakocha village under Jharpokharia police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Minti Murmu, wife of Bolai Murmu of the village.
According to reports, some unpleasant incidents were taking place in the village during the last few days. The villagers, especially the deceased’s brother-in-law and nephew accused Minti of all the evils and killed her with sharp weapons on Wednesday night. Shocked by the turn of events, Bolai Murmu informed the police about the murder and alleged that his brother and nephew were responsible for the crime.
Jharpokharia police reached the spot and started an investigation.
