Malkangiri: Inspector General, Frontier Headquarters (Special Operations) BSF Odisha Kailash Chandra Jat visited Malkangiri and Koraput districts on a two-day visit- January 18 and 19 and reviewed the security scenario of the region and operational preparedness of BSF troops.
During this visit he was accompanied with Dhirendra Kumar, DIG (Operations), Sanjeev Kumar, DIG (Intelligence) of Ftr HQ BSF (Spl-Ops) Odisha and Sailendra Kumar Sinha, DIG of Malkangiri Sector & other senior officials of Border Security Force.
During the 1st day of his visit, IG BSF visited interior areas in Bejangiwada Reserve Forest & Gomphakonda Reserve Forest and assessed the recent LWE activities in the region.
He also visited BSF Camps located at Bodigetta, MV-72 & MV-79. On the 2nd day of the visit, he reviewed the security scenario in Swabhiman Anchal while venturing into interior villages Janbai, Badapada, Jantapai, Jodambo and Hantalguda. He interacted with troops deployed in remotely located Company Operating Bases in these areas.
While praising BSF Jawans for their dedication and all out effort for extensive domination in the area, he also accentuated upon intensive combing operations both along Odisha-Andhra Pradesh & Odisha-Chhattisgarh border region.
He also emphasized upon winning the hearts and minds of the local tribes in the interiors, so that maximum benefits of Government sponsored programs can be extended to the marginalized and poor living in the far flung areas of the district, that would help them to join the mainstream population.
He highlighted that BSF being deployed in the remotest part of the district, should remain approachable to the inhabitants at all time, for all kind of assistance.
Since its deployment in Odisha in the year 2010, BSF has been successfully countering the Maoist strategy for the safety and security of the public in the interiors and remote localities of Malkangiri and Koraput.
In recent days, the establishment of new camps by BSF along Odisha-Chhattisgarh and Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border has been instrumental in putting a considerable check over LWE activities in this region. BSF works with commitment to enhance a sense of security among the locals and extends all possible helps to the local administration to execute the developmental works in the area.
