Cuttack: Unidentified bike-borne miscreants on Monday allegedly slit the throat of a teenage boy near Kuleilo Chhak under Athagarh police limits in Cuttack district.
The injured boy was identified as Suryanarayan Das of Udayapur village under Athagarh police limits.
Suryanarayan has been admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Athagarh in critical condition.
According to reports, Suryanarayan, who studies in class 10th this morning while returning home after attending tuition went to a shop at Kuleilo bazaar to buy a biscuit packet. Right on the moment two youths who came riding a motorcycle slit Suryanarayan’s throat with a knife and fled the spot.
Locals rushed a critically wounded Suryanarayan to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Athagarh where he is undergoing treatment.
His family has lodged a written complaint with the Athagarh police in this connection.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
