Fire In Jewellery Shop In Cuttack

Cuttack: Fire broke out in a jewellery shop in Nimchouri in Cuttack city on Monday evening.

Soon after notice the blaze, the shop employees called the fire tender unit which rushed to the spot and doused the inferno after an hour-long operation.

Local traders and people gathered there to assist the rescue team.

The fire occurred due to a short circuit, Fire department said after a preliminary investigation.

The amount of damage has not been estimated immediately.

Earlier, a fire incident occurred in the Choudhury Bazar area, causing heavy loss to traders.

Choudhury Bazar and Nimchouri areas are the busiest business points of the city.
