Police Seize 120 Kg Cannabis, Arrest 2 In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: Mayurbhanj police on Tuesday seized 120 kg of ganja (cannabis) from a car and arrested two people in this connection near the main market square of Yashipur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

Acting on a tip-off that cannabis was being smuggled in a car from Sambalpur to West Bengal police set up a trap near Yashipur and seized the contraband. The estimated value of seized cannabis is said to be Rs 12 lakh.

The arrested have been identified as Asiful Mandal (29) of West Bengal and Meyal Viswan (29). The accused will be arraigned on Tuesday. A case has been registered at the Yashipur police station in this connection and further investigation into the matter is underway, informed Mayurbhanj SP S Susree.
