Bhubaneswar: Odisha government targets to provide piped drinking water to all households in rural areas of the state by the end of 2025.
This was informed by Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Pradip Kumar Amat in the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday while replying to a query from BJP member Mohan Charan Majhi.
Stating that the provision of safe drinking water to the people of the state is the topmost priority of the government, Amat informed that as of date all people of 47,274 villages are being provided with safe drinking water through piped drinking water project, tube wells, sanitized well and solar energy powered water supply projects. No Adivasi village has been left out, Amat added.
He said that the work to provide piped drinking water to all households in rural areas is underway.
A total of 16,659 villages in the state are getting piped drinking water, he added.
