Jajpur: A decomposed body of a woman was found stuffed inside a gunny bag on the Baitarani river bed at Kuanrpur under Mangalpur police limits in Jajpur district.
Locals spotted the bag from which a foul smell was emanating. They alerted police who reached the spot and seized the gunny bag after calling a scientific team.
From the preliminary investigation, police suspect it was a case of murder.
The identity and age of the deceased is yet to be established.
Police suspect that miscreants might have killed the woman and abandoned the body keeping it in a gunny bag.
The incident is suspected to be of two-three days old.
Police registered a case in this regard and launched an investigation with a scientific team and sniffer dogs.
The body will be sent for post-mortem, police said.
