Balasore: The joint team of Central Excise Department and Jaleswar satellite excise wing seized a large quantity of country liquor and foreign liquor with Aska Forty from Ada Market after conducting a raid in the locality on Wednesday.
A person was arrested and forwarded to court for allegedly involved in the illegal liquor trade.
At the direction of Central excise intelligence deputy commissioner Ramachandra Mishra, a team led by Deputy Superintendent Alaka Suna raided an abandoned shop at Ada Bazar in the town.
During the raid, 850 liters of country liquor, 25 liters of foreign liquor, 125 liters of Aska Forty were seized and Bagirathi Nayak of Ada village was arrested.
The joint raid was led by the IIC Dhiren Behera and Jaleswar Excise Satelite Excise IIC Lakhesadhab Pradhan.
The accused Baghirathi underwent a medical test at Soro hospital before being appeared in the court.
