And it is because of the distinctive taste of Dahibara Aloodum. Over the years, Dahibara Aloodum recipes have travelled across the globe.
Lastly, having a plate of Dahibara is incomplete without drinking a bowl of dahi in the end.
It is learnt that a bunch of young foodies from the state came up with the idea of celebrating Dahibara Aloodum Day in 2019. Dahibara Aloodum is believed to have been first made and sold in Bidanasi (old Cuttack) near Barabati Fort.
In 2020, the mouth-watering street food won the first award at the 11th National Street Food Festival in New Delhi.
There are many famous Dahibara aloodum stalls in Cuttack, but the Raghu Dahibara Aloodum and Babula Dahibara Aloodum are the oldest and most famous stalls in Silver City. All they want is to popularize Dahibara and Aloodam outside the State and country.
Babula has won national accolades for his culinary excellence. He has won the National Street Food Festival award in 2019. He also participated in 2023 edition of the same festival. Apart from that, he also participated in the Odisha Parva held in New Delhi.
Besides, Raghu Dahibara Aloodum has become popular among Katakias. It won’t be wrong to define it is a brand in itself and a cult favourite.
