Scolded By Father, 17-Year-Old Boy Commits Suicide In Soro

Soro: In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old boy studying in Plus II committed suicide by hanging on Friday at Hansipatna village under Soro police limits of Balasore district.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Goutam Lenka took the extreme step allegedly after being admonished by his father over his studies.

Goutam was found hanging in the backyard of his house after being scolded by his father. He was rescued by his father and rushed to Soro Community Health Centre (CHC). However, doctors at the CHC declared Goutam brought dead. On being informed Soro police registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for post-mortem. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
