Bhubaneswar: A woman and her daughter were killed after being hit by a car from behind near Ulba Chowk on Patnagarh-Balangir road on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Sarojini Dhurua and her daughter Riti Dhurua of Ulba village.
According to reports, Sarojini and Riti were daily labourers. While returning from work they were hit by a car from the rear. The car was coming from the Balangir side.
The driver of the accident-causing car managed to flee the spot after causing the mishap.
Angry villagers blocked the road demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased persons.
