Bhubaneswar: Maximum day temperature on Saturday breached 37 °C in five places in Odisha signalling the advent of summer.
Bolangir remained the hottest place in the State by recording a maximum day temperature of 38 °C, according to the latest temperature data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The other places that crossed 37°C are Bhawanipatna 37°C, Paralakhemundi 37°C, Malkangiri 37.1°C, and Titilagarh 37.5 °C.
Gopalpur remained the coolest place in the State by recording a maximum day temperature of 31.4°C.
The IMD in its forecast has cautioned that day temperature is likely to rise in most places across the State by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over the next four days and it is likely that it may soar to 39 to 40°C towards the end of March.
