Bhubaneswar: Ahead of General Elections 2024, veteran Congress leader Chiranjib Biswal resigned from the national party on Saturday.
Biswal tendered his resignation and submitted his resignation to Odisha Pradesh Congress (PCC) president Sarat Pattanayak.
“I hereby tender my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress,” read the resignation letter of the former two-time MLA and cricketer.
Chiranjib Biswal, the son of Congress stalwart and former Odisha Deputy Chief Minister late Basant Kumar Biswal, was first elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly on a Congress ticket from Tirtol in 2004 elections. Besides, he won the Assembly elections in 2014 from Jagatsinghpur.
