Police Constable Drowns In A Pond In Balasore

Balasore: In a tragic incident, a police constable drowned to death in a pond in Chotakanpur village under Nilagiri police limits in Balasore district on Wednesday.

The deceased police constable has been identified as Deepak Pradhan.

According to reports, Deepak, who was serving as a constable at the Pirahaat police station in Bhadrak district and was ailing had come to his native village Chotakanpur on leave.

Today, Deepak had gone to a pond near his house to take a bath. While bathing he slipped and drowned in the deep waters of the pond. Seeing him drown, locals rescued him and he was rushed to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Nilagiri.

However, he was pronounced dead by the attending doctors at the hospital.

Nilagiri police have seized Deepak’s body and have sent it for post-mortem.
