Cuttack: Senior IPS officer Prakash R on Friday took charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Cuttack Urban Police District (UPD).
Prakash R replaced Kanwar Vishal Singh who was shifted following orders of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
After joining as Cuttack DCP, Prakash R discussed the law and order situation with senior police officers.
Speaking to reporters after taking charge, Prakash R said that emphasis will be laid on holding free and fair elections. He added that patrolling will be intensified while a close watch will be kept on criminals.
Additional DCP Anil Mishra and other senior police officers welcomed the new DCP.
