Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old woman drowned to death in a pond at Sankhana village under Nandipada police limits in Keonjhar district on Wednesday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sabitri Pohi.
According to reports, in the morning, Sabitri had gone to the pond near her home to take a bath. While bathing her feet slipped and she drowned in the pond.
As Sabitri did not return home, her family members searched for her but in vain. Later she was rescued from the pond and rushed to Government Hospital at Anandpur. However, doctors at the hospital pronounced her dead.
