College Girl Allegedly Dies Of Sunstroke In Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: A college girl died allegedly due to sunstroke in Cuttack on Saturday.

The 21-year-old student identified as Bhubaneswari Das, was studying in City College in Cuttack.

The girl was a resident of Kajidiha under Madhupatna police limits in the city.

According to reports, Das fell sick after reaching home from college on Saturday noon. She was immediately admitted to heatstroke ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital.  Later, she was shifted to the ICU after her condition started deteriorating. However, he died during treatment in the ICU.

This is the first suspected death due to heatstroke in Cuttack. The city witnessed 40 degrees C plus temperature for the last couple of days.

On Friday, the government confirmed the first sunstroke death of the season, which had been reported from Balasore.
