Bhubaneswar: As many as 37 candidates are in the fray for the elections to four Lok Sabha seats in Odisha that will go to polls on May 13. These 37 candidates include 30 men and seven women.
According to the state Election Commission office, the nomination papers of the candidates were scrutinised on April 26 and Monday was the last day for withdrawal of nominations.
The nomination papers of 38 candidates were found valid during the scrutiny and one candidate in Koraput withdrew his nomination on Monday.
Of the 37 candidates, 11 are contesting the Kalahandi seat, 4 for Nabarangpur, 11 for the Berhampur seat and 11 candidates are in the fray for the Koraput constituency.
Along with the four Lok Sabha seats, 28 Assembly segments under them will also go to polls on May 13.
Elections for the remaining 17 Parliamentary seats in Odisha will be held on May 20, May 25 and June 1.
