Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janta Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik on Thursday filed his nomination papers for the Kantabanji assembly seat.
According to sources, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took out a rally after reaching the helipad at Titlagarh.
5T Chairman VK Pandian, BJD candidate for the Titlagarh assembly segment Tukuni Sahu and senior BJD leader Ananga Udaya Singh Deo accompanied the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to Sub-Collector’s office where he filed his nomination papers today.
Naveen is contesting from the Kantabanji assembly segment for the first time.
It is learnt that the CM returned to Bhubaneswar soon after filing nomination papers for Kantabanji.
He is also scheduled to visit Bhanjnagar, Polsara, Sankhemundi and Sorda and participate in an election rally there on May 3.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on April 30 filed his nomination papers for the Hinjili Assembly seat where voting will be held on May 20. Patnaik had won the Hinjili Assembly seat five times since 2000.
