Bhubaneswar: A three-year-old boy died after being bitten by a venomous snake at Hilunga village in Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur.
The deceased his been identified as Sagar, Shanti Kora’s son. Sagar’s father became critical when he tried to extract venom by sucking from his son’s leg.
According to sources, Sagar was playing near the staircase when he was bitten by a cobra on his left leg and thigh. When Sagar screamed, his parents rushed to him.
However, his father acted quickly and sucked out the venom to save his son. In the process, he put himself in danger and fell ill.
Both father and son were rushed to Biramaharajpur Sub-divisional hospital where Sagar was declared dead.
Meanwhile, Sagar’s father has been shifted to Subarnapur District Headquarters Hospital as his condition worsened.
